THE RIGHT TO THE SURFACE IS THE RIGHT TO THE CITY
That's a wrap for our seminar series funded by the Urban Studies Foundation, with "Art, advertising, and methods of surfacing the city" hosted by Tom Ward at Uppsala University.
We hosted our second in-person Urban Surfaces Research Workshop in sunny Nicosia, Cyprus: “Making and visualising surfaces in the city” ☀️
We delivered the first of three Urban Surfaces Research Network workshops in Melbourne with 18 brilliant participants.
Are you a researcher or practitioner in the public or private sector whose work engages with urban surfaces? We are inviting expressions of interest to attend our 1.5-day workshop in Melbourne, Australia, on 3-4 December 2025.
I am thrilled to announce that the Urban Surfaces Research Network has been awarded an Urban Studies Foundation seminar series award for the project ‘Walls speak. Are you listening? A research agenda for urban surfaces’.
